About the Stove

NEW: This latest version is not only Eco Design Approved but is now Clearskies 5 approved! This is the highest independent level of certification possible in the UK, meaning this is one of the lowest particulate producing models on the market. This can only be achieved on a product which is well designed and well built.

This advanced unit, suitable for a 12mm hearth, has been designed by our sister company Ecosy+ stoves of Hampshire and tested at KIWA Gastec in Cheltenham to CE and British standards. No expense has been spared in the development of this product and since its launch in 2017 it has had numerous upgrades to make the unit easier to use and even more reliable.

Ecosy+ has tried to give this stove a very minimal aesthetic and have therefore tucked away the air controls under the bottom ash lip which allowed for an increased glass front, maximizing the view of the fire. The large glass window dips below the grate line and a heat proof black strip has been placed on the glass to conceal the ash pan, making the stove more visually appealing. The stoves air supply is solely drawn in from the rear and regulated by the two sliding controls on the front. This advanced design makes the stove adaptable for a “direct air feed” which is perfect for new homes, or customers with draw issues.

This version of the Purefire Curve 5kw comes with a stand/log store, perfect for keeping logs warm, dry, and close by; as well as giving the stove more presence in a room. For the version without the stand please click .

DEFRA Approved

This version of the 5kw Curve has been rigorously tested and approved to burn wood and smokeless coal in a smoke controlled zone. Fitted with a mechanical stop to prevent secondary air closure beyond the 8mm open position. A 5″ flue liner can be fitted onto this stove. This stop can be removed if you have not fitted a 5″ liner and do not live in a smoke free zone.

Technology

The hidden gem of this stove is its internal shell – effectively another stove inside the stove, where air is drawn in from the stove’s rear, fed between these two layers of steel and precisely dispersed over the fire at the rear, through a series of holes inside the chamber. Having the air introduced high up in the chamber is an effective way of re-burning the initial smoke and pollutants created by the fire. The air that is not dispersed through these holes speeds up as it rises over the fire and is released like a curtain of air over the glass. This heating effect speeds the air up and is the most effective way of keeping the glass clean.

The Purefire Curve with Stand is a multi-fuel stove and includes a newly designed ash riddling grate which opens up for the burning of smokeless coal and closes for the burning of wood. This allows the user to burn each fuel in the most efficient way possible. (See gallery images) The Curve has a 30mm thick virgin ore cast iron door that helps retain and slowly release the heat into the room in conjunction with the stove’s thick steel body. This unit benefits from a tall and durable log retainer, unique baffle design, full fire brick lining and quality ash pan that has all four sides folded. As with all Ecosy+ products, it is well-designed and engineered but not over-complicated. Too often stoves have over-complicated systems that do not stand the test of time and can be incredibly expensive and complicated to fix. This stove not only excels in the test lab but is easy to use and reliable in the real world. We confidently offer a 5 year warranty on this product

5 Year Guarantee

(This covers the stoves body and not the internal perishable parts like grates and fire bricks.) Guarantee is activated when the stove is invoiced. 6 digit number on the top of each invoice is the warranty number. For stove to be covered it must be installed by a HETAS engineer.

Why is a mechanical stop added?

This is to prevent full closing down of the stove. A fully closed down stove burns less efficiently, emitting more smoke particles. This addition combats that issue and allows it to be installed in smoke control areas.

Crystal Clear Glass

As mentioned in the technology section the air is drawn into the fire low down at the stoves rear. The air races up and over the stoves chamber increasing in speed as it travels until it is unveiled and drops like a curtain over the stoves glass. This can be seen in action on the video attached at the start of this listing. This system is proven to be a very effective way of keeping the glass clean and clear of smoke stains providing the wood burnt is well seasoned.

Options

Option: 1000mm length of matching flue

This covers one claim only, not multiple breakages.
