About This Stove

The Ottawa Deluxe Wide Tall wood burning stove has elegant clean lines, landscape design and a user-friendly firebox that will comfortably fit a 350mm long log. And it doesn’t just look gorgeous. This wood burning stove has an efficiency rating that most manufacturers can only dream of; the Ottawa range has been a bestseller since 2014 and has been extremely well received by HETAS installers and the public alike. This model has a high density vermiculite fire brick lining and unique twin baffle design that, in conjunction with the tertiary air feed, helps to recycle and then re-burn the smoke produced by the fire, reducing both fuel consumption and particulate output.

How It Works

Ottawa Deluxe Wide Tall wood burning stove has two air inlets.

1. Tertiary air. This is controlled with the base lever and regulates the air flowing through the series of holes at the stove’s rear. Combined with the twin baffle, this fresh injection of air re-burns the initial smoke produced by the fire before it is expelled from the chimney.

2. Secondary/Air Wash. Controlled by the sliding bar above the door, this regulates the air flowing onto the glass. This injection of air helps to keep the glass clean and clear of smoke stains.

Heat Output Range<

The Ottawa Deluxe Wide has a 5kw nominal output which can make installation a lot easier as no air brick is required. It benefits from a 3.7kw to just under 6.1kw range, meaning this stove can be suitable for a large number of spaces from small to large.

5 Year Guarantee

This covers the stove’s body and not the internal perishable parts like grates and fire bricks. Guarantee is activated when the stove is invoiced. 6 digit number on the top of each invoice is the warranty number. For the stove to be covered, it must be installed by a HETAS / OFTEC engineer or signed off by building control.

DEFRA Approved

The Ottawa Deluxe Wide Tall wood burning stove has been rigorously tested and approved to burn wood in smoke controlled zones. Defra approved stoves with 5″ flue outlets, like this one, can also be installed with a 5″ liner. Defra approval has been achieved by factory-fitting a mechanical stop to prevent secondary air closure beyond the 31mm open position. When ordering over the phone, please specify that you require the DEFRA version.

Stove Construction

The Ottawa Deluxe Wide Tall wood burning stove is a “hybrid” stove. Its body is constructed from quality Q235B carbon steel, chosen for its plasticity, toughness and weldability; the door is made from very thick mineral cast iron that helps retain the heat and slowly release it into the room. Having a cast iron door also enables us to add features like the shallow curves on the top and bottom. The internal lining is vermiculite and the grate is constructed from heavy-duty cast iron and includes an ash pan. The stove weighs over 90kg.
