About The Vista 500

This advanced wood burning stove has been designed by our sister company Ecosy+ of Hampshire and incorporates all the best bits from their current model range. Having sold tens of thousands of stoves, Ecosy+ has utilised all they have learned to created a reliable, stylish and efficient stove.

Features on this stove far exceed models that cost well north of £1000. Its huge heat-resistant ceramic glass front gives an uninterrupted view of the fire, which is on the tick list of almost every stove buyer. The hidden gem of this stove is its internal shell – effectively another stove inside the stove, where air is drawn in from the stove’s rear, fed between two layers of steel and precisely dispersed over the fire through a series of holes inside the chamber. Having the air introduced high up in the chamber is an effective way of re-burning the initial smoke and pollutants created by the fire. The air that is not dispersed through these holes speeds up as it rises over the fire and is released like a curtain of air over the glass, helping it to keep clean and clear of smoke stains.

The Vista 500 Wide is a wood burning only stove therefore does not require a multi-fuel grate or ash pan as wood loves to burn on the base. The stove is however lined with thick 30mm vermiculite boards that protect the stoves shell and its internal steel baffle is removable for sweeping. To the side of the stove is a well engineered dial which gives an incredibly accurate degree of control over the fire as the vent plate is mechanically attached to the body. The Vista 500 has a beautifully shaped cast iron door that is mirrored with a matching thick cast iron fascia fixed to the all-in-one log store. This, along with the overall height of the fire, give it a great presence and this stove looks fantastic freestanding. This model includes the newly designed brushed steel push/pull handle. As with all parts of the Vista 500, they are well-designed and engineered but not over-complicated. Too often stoves have over-complicated systems that do not stand the test of time and can be incredibly expensive and complicated to fix. We are so confident of the stoves quality, we offer a 7 year warranty.

Heat Output Range

The Vista 500 has a 5kw nominal output, which can make installation a lot easier as no air brick is required. However, it benefits from a 3.5kw to just under 7.3kw range, meaning this stove can be suitable for a large number of spaces from small to large.

Optional Extras

  • Option: 1000mm length of matching flue
  • Option: Double layered heat shield that reduces the distances at the rear of the fire down to just 100mm and the sides to 300mm – This is only applicable if a twin walled flue pipe is being used.. Single skin flue radiated too much heat and will be above the shield. – OUT OF STOCK! CANNOT BE USED IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE REAR FLUE BOX. Heat shield does protrude 25mm from top of stove and 17mm sides from side of stove. Please see picture in gallery.
  • Option: Ceramic glass is not covered under the guarantee for any stove on the market. Ceramic glass is fully heat resistant but will break if struck with a log, or similarly hard object. This glass is expensive, but for a small fee we are offering to guarantee it for a full year. This covers any accidental chips or cracks and photographic evidence will be required. This covers one claim only, not multiple breakages
  • Option: Spare rope kit, glue and glass clips for servicing
  • Option: Custom rear flue box – See listing for more details.

7 Year Guarantee

This covers the stove’s body and not the internal perishable parts like grates and fire bricks. Guarantee is activated when the stove is invoiced. 6 digit number on the top of each invoice is the warranty number. For stove to be covered it must be installed by a HETAS / OFTEC engineer or signed off by building control.

“Really, really excellent control and massive wide view… It looks a million dollars… and it still performs at a level that’s similar to a vastly more expensive model. It’s a fantastic stove… It’s hard to fault” – The Tortoise

Stove Construction

The Vista 500 Wide is a “hybrid” stove and its body is constructed from quality Q235B carbon steel that has been chosen for its plasticity, toughness and weld-ability. The door is made from very thick mineral cast iron that helps retain the heat and slowly release it into the room. Having a cast iron door also enables us to add features like the shallow curves on the top and bottom. The stove weighs over 140kg.

DEFRA Approved

The Vista 500 Wide been rigorously tested and approved to burn wood in smoke controlled zones. Defra approved stoves with 5″ flue outlets, like this one, can also be installed with a 5″ liner. The Defra approval has been achieved by factory fitting a mechanical stop to prevent secondary air closure beyond the 31mm open position. When ordering over the phone please specify that you require the DEFRA version.

Why Are We So Cheap?

This is a common question we get asked and we understand why people wonder how it can be done at such a good price. We are very unique in the way we operate and occupy the whole supply chain through the brands we own. Opposed to only selling to the trade we primarily offer trade prices direct to the end user. This completely cuts out any middle men. We can stock over 5000 stoves at any one time and ship direct to the end user with no showrooms. We always suggest prospective buyers take a look at our glowing feedback that currently has over 7000 positive comments on our stoves and stove products.
