Ecosy+ Hampton 4 Defra Approved – Eco Design Approved – 4 kw Wood Burning Stove

The Defra Approved Hampton 4 is one of the most up to date and cleanest wood burning stoves sold in the UK.

Eco Design Approved

The Defra Approved Hampton 4 is one of the most up to date and cleanest wood burning stoves sold in the UK. It has been tested and approved to meet the new Ecodesign requirements

This model not only meets but exceeds the government’s tough requirements by some distance; many stoves do not pass the test at all. All test results have been carried out by Kiwa Gastec in Cheltenham, UK – a leader in their field. Find out more about the Ecodesign scheme at stoveindustryalliance.com.

A compact stove for compact spaces

The Hampton 4 has been thoughtfully designed with space in mind. Mainly the lack of it. The compact unit is just 346mm wide and 480mm high, making it perfect for tiny fireplaces, boats, yurts, home offices and many more spaces that require a controllable level of heat from a small unit. A range of 2.7 to 5.7kw makes this perfect for any space that requires minimal heat, or slightly larger rooms which have restrictions on the stoves physical size. The unit may be compact, but because it is a wood only unit the fuel burns on the base, saving space over a coal burning model which will have a grate and ash pan fitted.

Side and rear heat shield – If the stove is going to be surrounded by combustible materials we offer a side and rear heat shield option. This reduces the distances to combustibles at the rear, down to just 200mm and at the side, 250mm – Perfect for sitting in the corner or a cabin for example. CANNOT BE USED IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE REAR FLUE BOX

About the Stove

The Hampton 4 boasts some of the lowest combined readings of NOx, CO and dust of any wood burning stove sold in the UK. In response to the government’s initiatives to lower such emissions from wood burning stoves, you can rest assured that you have one of the cleanest stoves for sale in the UK. This unrivalled clean burn has been achieved by the quality engineering exhibited in all Hampton models. All bodies are made from thick steel plate that is perfectly folded and welded together, ensuring no air can leak into the stove.

The hidden gem of this stove is its internal shell – effectively another stove inside the stove, where air is drawn in from the stove’s rear, fed between these two layers of steel and precisely dispersed over the fire at the rear through a series of holes inside the chamber. Having the air introduced high up in the chamber is an effective way of re-burning the initial smoke and pollutants created by the fire. The air that is not dispersed through these holes speeds up as it rises over the fire and is released like a curtain of air over the glass. This heating effect speeds the air up and is the most effective way of keeping the glass clean. In our attached video, you can see the curtain of air descend on the glass as the vent is opened. Practical and truly wonderful to watch.

The Hampton 4 is a wood burning only stove, therefore it does not require a multi-fuel grate or ash pan as wood loves to burn on the base. The stove is however lined with thick 30mm vermiculite boards that protect the stoves shell, and it’s internal steel baffle is removable for sweeping. Under the stove is the simple push-pull lever that gives an incredibly accurate degree of control over the fire, as the vent plate is mechanically attached to the body. The Hampton 4 has a 30mm thick virgin ore cast iron door that helps retain and slowly release the heat into the room in conjunction with the stove’s thick steel body. Going into the door is the stove’s unique handmade twist handle with wooden lever. As with all parts of the Hampton 4 they are well-designed and engineered but not over-complicated. Too often, stoves have over-complicated systems that do not stand the test of time and can be incredibly expensive and complicated to fix. We confidently offer a 7 year warranty on this product.

Crystal Clear Glass

As mentioned in the technology section, the air is drawn into the fire low down at the stoves rear. The air races up and over the stoves chamber, increasing in speed as it travels until it is unveiled and drops like a curtain over the stove’s glass. This can be seen in action on the video above. This system is proven to be a very effective way of keeping the glass clean and clear of smoke stains, providing the wood burnt is well seasoned.

7 Year Guarantee

This covers the stove’s body and not the internal perishable parts like grates and fire bricks. Guarantee is activated when the stove is invoiced. 6 digit number on the top of each invoice is the warranty number. For stove to be covered it must be installed by a HETAS engineer or signed off by building control.

DEFRA Approved

The Hampton has been rigorously tested and approved to burn wood in smoke controlled zones. Defra approved stoves with 5″ flue outlets, like this one, can also be installed with a 5″ liner.

Stove Construction

The Panoramic is a “hybrid” stove and it’s body is constructed from quality Q235B carbon steel that has been chosen for its plasticity, toughness and weldability. The door is made from very thick mineral cast iron that helps retain the heat and slowly release it into the room. Having a cast iron door also enables us to add features like the shallow curves on the top and bottom. The internal lining is vermiculite and these are easily replaced.

Why Are We So Cheap?

People often ask us how are prices are so cheap, and we understand why. We design and make a large amount of our products, including the Ecosy+ brand, and they come direct from our factory to us, completely cutting out the middleman. This means we can effectively sell stoves at trade prices direct to the public. We can stock over 2,500 wood burning stoves at any one time and ship direct to the customer with no showrooms. If you’re thinking of purchasing a Hampton 4 stove, we suggest you take a look at our glowing feedback, with over 7,000 positive comments on our stoves and stove products.

Optional Extras

This unit comes with numerous optional extras.

The first being a heat shield that reduces the distances to combustibles – See above in red. Heat shield does protrude 25mm from top of stove and 17mm sides from side of stove. Please see picture in gallery. CANNOT BE USED IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE REAR FLUE BOX

The second is a vertical rear flue box that makes certain installations a lot easier and also gives the user a perfectly flat top, ideal for cooking. Works very well in conjunction with the stainless steel cook plate below. The vertical rear flue box only protrudes 160mm whereas a 90 degree bend added to a stoves rear protrudes a minimum of 230mm, allowing the user to use the rear flue option without having the stove stick too far out in the room.

The third is our unique 5mm thick stainless steel cook plate, with pan rail. You do not need this to cook on the stove but it creates a great looking, easy to clean surface. This covers the whole top of the stove, so once fitted you will need to exit from the rear. We would suggest fitting the vertical rear flue box. The pan rail does not have to be fitted, if not required and this cannot be fitted in conjunction with the heat shield option.

The fourth option is the handle choice. The stove comes as standard with an offset wooden handle (as shown in main image) but is compatible with the Ecosy+ Classic range of handles in either brushed chrome, brass or black as shown in the gallery of images. The fourth and final option, is the glass guarantee. Ceramic glass is not covered under the guarantee for any stove on the market. Ceramic glass is fully heat resistant but will break if struck with a log, or similarly hard object. This glass is expensive, but for a small fee we are offering to guarantee it for a full year. This covers any accidental chips or cracks and photographic evidence will be required. This covers one claim only, not multiple breakages
