This particular model is designed to be set back into a fireplace and will sit nicely in a modern or traditional setting. Constructed from high quality cast iron, this stove will radiate heat from the cast iron shell as well as the fixed convection system that helps disperse heat from the chamber into the room itself. This model is for wood burning only, so requires no ash pan or grate. Not being a Multi-Fuel model makes the firebox larger and ensures that the wood is burning efficiently at all times.
Technology
This clean burning unit has three inlets for airflow.
-
Convection – The warming air is circulated around the chamber and gently dispersed through the cast iron slats at the top. Inset stoves have this as heat loss can be an issue, as the majority of the stove is set back in the fireplace.
-
Air Wash Lever – This push-pull lever on the top of the fire helps control the flow of air over the fire and onto the glass. When pulled towards you, air is being forced onto the glass, helping to keep it clean and clean. It also helps add additional air over the fire.
-
Secondary / Tertiary Burn – Air flows under the fire and is pushed through a series of holes placed high up in the chamber, just above the rear cast plate. This helps to re-burn the initial smoke produced by the fire and is key in making the fire efficient and clean burning. There is controlled by the brushed chrome knob on the left side of the stove.
Stove Construction
The Hampton 5 Inset is a “hybrid” stove and its body is constructed from quality Q235B carbon steel, that has been chosen for its plasticity, toughness and weldability. The door is made from very thick mineral cast iron that helps retain the heat and slowly release it into the room. Having a cast iron door also enables us to add features like the shallow curves on the top and bottom. The internal lining is vermiculite and these help to protect the stove’s body.
7 Year Guarantee
This covers the stove’s body and not the internal perishable parts like grates and fire bricks. Guarantee is activated when the stove is invoiced. 6 digit number on the top of each invoice is the warranty number. For a stove to be covered it must be installed by a HETAS engineer or signed off by building control.
Why Are We So Cheap?
This is a common question we get asked and understand why people will sometimes wonder how it can be done so cheap. We are one of, if not the only stove company in the UK that either designs (through our brands) or buy direct from the factory every single product. This way, we can offer the best possible price direct to you. Owning the whole process from start to finish also has a forgotten advantage and if you ever have an issue with the product you are speaking to the people who make it and sorting it out is often very easy and quick. I am sure we have all been in the position where you are passed between retailer and manufacturer to try to get an issue resolved. We always suggest prospective buyers take a look at our glowing feedback that currently has over 7000 positive comments on our stoves and stove related products.
