About the stove and how it works
Ecosy+ stoves is one of the largest UK stove manufacturers and has sold tens of thousands of stoves direct to the public and trade over its 10+ year history. This particular model is a reliable, stylish and efficient fully cast iron stove that will look stunning in any room, complementing either modern or traditional decor. The thick cast iron not only gives the stove a robust look and feel, but will also contribute to the longevity of the product. At over 140kg, the Mulberry is much heftier than similar sized units on the market, which commonly weigh around 90 to 100kg. And there’s good reason: the thicker cast iron allows the stove to continue to pump heat out long after the flames have died down – a key advantage of a cast iron unit. The thicker cast should also last longer, and this why Ecosy+ offer a 5-year guarantee on this mammoth unit.
This model is unique and is one of the first units to have a maximum output of 13+ kw to gain Ecodesign approval. This has been gained by Ecosy+ using their previous experience to develop a unique tertiary burn system and baffle combination. The twin baffle helps to keep heat in the chamber and also creates a tumbling effect which recirculates the smoke back into the stove. The two components work together, helping to reduce emissions and increase efficiency.
In addition to this, the model is also very user-friendly. The stove is only approved for the burning of wood but does include a handy grate and ash pan which users love. This make cleaning the stove easier and is also great for lighting the stove, as the primary air control gives a good burst of heat under the grate.
All parts and fittings on this stove are simple yet solid and easy to replace if you ever needed to. The handle is Black and the fittings are Brass.
5 Year Guarantee
This covers the stove’s body and not the internal perishable parts like grates and fire bricks. Guarantee is activated when the stove is invoiced. 6 digit number on the top of each invoice is the warranty number. For a stove to be covered, it must be installed by a HETAS / OFTEC engineer or signed off by building control.
DEFRA Approved
This Mulberry is not Defra approved. This means it cannot be installed in a smoke free zone like they have in London or Manchester. However, not being Defra approved means the stove can close off fully and burn for much longer periods of time.
