About the Stove

The advanced Ecosy+ Purefire 7.4 stove is designed by Ecosy+ stoves and is the latest upgrade to this popular model. After going back to the drawing board with this particular unit, Ecosy+ stoves have now made some significant changes. These changes include a new baffle and grate design. These changes not only mean that the stove is easier to use, but they have also contributed to the stove exceeding the Eco Design Approved regulations and also qualifying to be Cleakskies 5 approved. This is the highest possible accreditation awarded to a stove, highlighting the stoves quality and low particulate output. Ecosy+ stoves is also a long-standing member of the SIA. More information on this, can be found here.

This upgraded design includes a new grate which opens and closes via a bar on the side of the fire. Wood and Smokeless coal require different burning conditions. If you are burning wood, you can close the grate off, as wood requires less air under the fire. If you are burning smokeless coal, you can open the grate up, allowing lots of air under the coals. Unlike wood, coals require lots of air underneath them. In addition to this, the updated version also includes a new 4-cornered galvanised ash pan and removable steel twin plate baffle. This model also benefits from a single baffle design. Many modern stoves have very tight twin baffles which are more prone to kicking smoke back if the chimney is not performing well. In our opinion, this stove is the perfect blend of style, efficiency and usability.

DEFRA Approved

The Purefire has been rigorously tested and approved to burn wood in a smoke controlled zone. This has been achieved by fitting mechanical stops to prevent full closure on the primary and secondary air control. With these changes, a 5″ flue liner can also be fitted onto this stove.

Clean Burning And Clear Glass

The Purefire 7.4 boasts some of the lowest combined readings of NOx, CO and dust of any larger stove sold in the UK. In response to the government’s initiatives to lower such emissions from wood burning stoves, you can rest assured that you have one of the cleanest stoves for sale in the UK. This unrivalled clean burn has been achieved by the quality engineering exhibited in all Purefire models. All bodies are made from thick steel plate that is perfectly folded and welded together, ensuring no air can leak into the stove.

The hidden gem of this stove is its internal shell – effectively another stove inside the stove, where air is drawn in from the stove’s rear, fed between these two layers of steel and precisely dispersed over the fire at the rear, through a series of holes inside the chamber. Having the air introduced high up in the chamber is an effective way of re-burning the initial smoke and pollutants created by the fire. The air that is not dispersed through these holes speeds up as it rises over the fire and is released like a curtain of air over the glass. This heating effect speeds the air up and is the most effective way of keeping the glass clean. Practical, efficient and truly wonderful to watch!

Stove Construction

The Purefire is a “hybrid” stove and its body is constructed from quality Q235B carbon steel, that has been chosen for its plasticity, toughness and weldability. The door is made from very thick mineral cast iron that helps retain the heat and slowly release it into the room. Having a cast iron door also enables us to add features like the shallow curves on the top and bottom. The internal lining is vermiculite. – The stove weighs over 90kg

5 Year Guarantee

(This covers the stove’s body and not the internal perishable parts like grates and fire bricks.) Guarantee is activated when the stove is invoiced. 6-digit number on the top of each invoice is the warranty number. For stove to be covered it must be installed by a HETAS engineer.

Why is a mechanical stop added?

This is to prevent full closing down of the stove. A fully closed down stove burns less efficiently, emitting more smoke particles. This addition combats that issue and allows it to be installed in smoke control areas.

Why Are We So Cheap?

This is a common question we get asked and understand why people will sometimes wonder how it can be done so cheap. We design a large amount of our products through other branches of our company “Ecosy+” in this case and they come direct from our factory to us: this completely cuts out any middle men. We can stock over 5000 stoves at any one time and ship direct to the end user with no showrooms. We always suggest prospective buyers take a look at our glowing feedback that currently has over 7000 positive comments on our stoves and stove products.
